State Attorney John F. Durrett announces that Thaddeous Marquis McClellan was convicted for Second Degree Murder While Armed by a jury in Hamilton County on October 20, 2023 after a two day trial. Mr. McClellan faces a maximum sentence of up to life in prison and will be sentenced by the Honorable Melissa Olin on November 16, 2023, who is also the judge who presided over the jury trial.
The State proved at trial that Mr. McClellan unjustifiably stabbed the victim to death with a knife with a depraved mind without regard to human life. The case was investigated by the Jasper Police Department, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
