State Attorney John F. Durrett announces that Defendant Juwan Pierce, having been found guilty by a jury of Second-Degree Murder While Armed with a Firearm was sentenced on October 13, 2025 in Hamilton County to life in prison.
The State proved beyond a reasonable doubt that the Defendant willfully shot and killed Martin Clay on October 27, 2023 during a homecoming party in downtown Jasper.
The State of Florida was represented by Assistant State Attorney Travis Munden in the trial and at sentencing. The Honorable Jamie L. Tyndal presided over the case.
