State Attorney John Durrett announces that Leonicio Davian Robinson II was found guilty by a jury on June 14, 2023, of Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding a Law Enforcement Officer Causing the Death of Another Person. With the verdict,
Leonicio Davian Robinson II faces a sentence of up to 30 years in prison. The Honorable Frederick L. Koberlein Jr. will formally sentence Leonicio Davian Robinson II at a hearing scheduled on August 24, 2023.
Robinson was found to have willfully fled in a vehicle from deputies of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and an officer of the Jasper Police Department. During the fleeing, the Defendant drove at high speeds and with wanton
disregard for the safety of others for approximately 3.8 miles through and around the city of Jasper. The Defendant ultimately ran a stop sign in a residential neighborhood at speeds in excess of 60 miles per hour and impacted another
vehicle that was lawfully crossing the intersection. The driver of that other vehicle died from the injuries the Defendant inflicted through his reckless conduct.
The case was investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Travis Munden.
